Dissenters' reviews tend to focus on the film's abrupt ending and perceive the emotional and philosophical undertones as unnecessary. Siobhan Synnot of The Scotsman gave the film two stars, commenting that "On the down side, there's a lot of dull pretentious philosophizing about the heartlessness of nature and God. On the up side, you get to see a man punch a wolf in the face." loan installment
The Grey
From my point of view was a decent film, just not a great one!
Liam did an excellent job.
The plane crash was very realistic.
What ticked me of is the unrealistic and phoney way the Wolves where portrayed as unrelenting attack monsters. There has been only a few cases of wolves ever attacking humans...Wolves just don't act like that in real life! They are afraid of humans!
I could not get into this movie.. The room was so cold based on the scenes.. but the plot not so much.. I can say that I thought the wolf would be more thatn a mer animal. It was huge. I kept thinking it was going to change into a person or something.. Not a movie for the theater..but not a bad red box
The cinematography was excellent. Lots of pounding heart stopping action including one of the most disturbing airplane crashes I've seen in a movie. This is not "Taken" or "Unknown". There's not as much anger as in those movies. There is a lot of sadness actually but enough suspense and action from the wolves tracking them down. The ending may leave you a little flat but it's not just an action flick so I was okay with it. I will be it when it comes to Blu Ray DVD.
